I’ve sworn to myself that I won’t curse on this blog but this is really, really pushing it.  The headline says it all.  President Obama has graciously called for his secretaries to find $100 million to cut from the $3.69 trillion dollar 2010 budget.  That is 0.00271% of the total budget.  I’m sorry, but my one year old could find that much waste in the budget.  Don’t tell me, as the President’s press secretary humiliated himself trying to say, that $100 million is a lot of money.  I know that.  But $3.69 trillion is a he…ahem, a whole lot more!

This is nothing but smoke in mirrors.  The media is dutifully running with this saying that the President is really making cuts, really working for the people.  My a…ahem, derriere.  This is smoke in mirrors, politics as usual, change (in Washington) that we are all used to.

The Heritage Foundation has an incredible visual of what this “cut” means to the total budget.  (Read “Obama’s Spending vs Obama’s Spending Cuts — in Pictures”)

The media is even saying that this is the President’s response to the tax day tea partiers.  Well, if this is all he’s got then we see just exactly how serious he really is about setting the country on the fiscal course we need to be on.

All you Obama voters who thought “we just need a change,” thanks a lot.
